Nicole Feller-Johnson

Hello! I’m Nicole, and I have been so fortunate to work with one of Embroydica’s founders, Lilia, in Manhattan, creating couture embroideries for red carpet evening wear.

I have extensive Embroidery experience and was the debut US Embroidery Specialist for Hermès of Paris, creating Monogramming and service innovations for Hermès. I specialize in tambour, sculptural and 3D printed embroideries and technology-driven textile development, and I have worked with some of the top brands in luxury fashion and beauty, including

the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show Wings Team, Sol De Janeiro, Sally Beauty Holdings, CD Greene, Prabal Gurung, Vogue Knitting, Jessica Min Ahn, and Free People.

I hold a double Masters of Science degree in Fashion and Design Research from Drexel University, where I focused on Fashion Technology. I now teach a wide selection of classes for Drexel, including Disruptive Design and Making, Research and Fabrication, Professional Landscapes, Design Thinking, Applied Design Visualization, Analysis of Product and Soft Goods for Assistive Wearables.

My debut fashion collection, featuring the world’s first dress made of 3D printed yarn, walked Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Russia, SS2019. My graduate thesis work "Knit Evolution in Digital Couture" was recognized as the "Most Original and Creative Graduate Research 2018" at Drexel University, and I am a CFDA+ Design Graduate for 2018, in the Futurists category, and with the statement "I AM a Fashion Disrupter”. Most recently, my newest collection of zero-waste, AI assisted and 3D

printed Couture walked Philadelphia Fashion Week’s 20th Anniversary Show.

I grew up in the ballet world, dancing since I was 2 years old, and my first interest in Embroidery grew out of costuming for my family’s company, the Horsham Ballet.
