I am Sambreen, an embroidery enthusiast! I am excited to be a part of Embroydica, where I get to explore and write about the beautiful world of embroidery.
My interest in embroidery started with my mom, who was amazing with satin stitches and made lovely designs on fabric. Inspired by her, I have learned quite a bit about embroidery. Also, as a fashion designer, I have developed a keen interest in the world of embroidery and textile prints. I have got good at Kantha stitch, a traditional embroidery of West Bengal. Lucknow's Chikankari and Toda embroidery of Nilgiris in Tamil Nadu are among the top of my list of learning and exploring.
Embroydica has given me an amazing opportunity to learn and explore more about the world of embroidery, and together, we are building an amazing platform for all the embroidery enthusiasts out there, just like us!
While I'm just starting out in this field, my experience writing for fashion brands and as a ghostwriter has given me a unique outlook that I bring to Embroydica. I am excited about discovering and sharing the rich stories behind each piece of embroidery in India and around the world. In my free time, I enjoy designing fashion pieces, sewing and crocheting, which
deepen my appreciation for textile arts.
